Who can benefit from water exercise classes?

Water has unique properties that make it an ideal exercise environment for nearly everyone.  From the elite

athlete to those severely de-conditioned from injury, illness or just plain old inactivity, we offer classes that

can help you toward your fitness goals.

Water exercise allows you to work at your own pace while supporting your back and body weight, thus

reducing impact and wear on joints. Many people, who are unable to exercise on land due to weakness,

injury, or arthritis, are able to get moving in the water.  Some classes are held in deep water, but no one

is required to go in water over their head. Swimming skills are not required in any class.  Our instructors

are either personal trainers or AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association) certified, and CPR/AED and First Aid certified.

Except Fibro-in-Motion, it is not necessary to register for a specific class.  All other classes can be attended on

a drop-in basis.  Purchasing a frequency card gets the lowest cost and are good for any 20 exercise classes

within 6 months from date of purchase.

Twinges in the Hinges

Time:              12:00am – 12:50 pm

Days:              Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Class is designed to gently take your joints through their full range of movement, with little

or no impact.  This is especially important for those with arthritis or other joint issues, but it’s

also a good place for those who haven’t been exercising to get started.  Exercising in the

water partially neutralizes gravity so you can move more comfortably in the water than on

land.  Class is held in the 86 degree 4-foot pool.  No swimming skills are necessary.  For

those who need assistance, family changing rooms are available and a helper in the water

is welcome.
