Pool Rules

Non-swimmers and children under 54” must be accompanied by an adult in the water If a swimmer is under 54” and unable to pass a swim test, they are allowed in the shallow play area of the leisure pool only (maximum depth 24”) unless they are within arms’ reach of a supervising adult or wearing a USCG approved lifejacket.

Anyone wearing a lifejacket must be within arms reach of a supervising adult in the water.  Lifejackets are allowed anywhere in the pools except the deep end of the competition pool.  Lifejackets are not allowed on the slide.

Patrons may bring noodles or soft balls, provided they are not used as flotation by a non swimmer under 54”.  Inner tubes, water wings, bathing suits with built-in flotation and inflatables are not allowed.  Only United States Coast Guard (USCG) lifejackets are allowed.

No running, pushing, dunking, or horseplay in pools, locker rooms, or spectator area.

No food, drink, glass containers, or gum allowed in pools, locker rooms, or spectator area.

No street shoes allowed on pool deck.

Everyone must shower before entering the pool.

Swim diapers must be worn by swimmers not in full control of bodily functions, and be covered by a bathing suit.

No diving in shallow areas.

Only feet first and front dives allowed from pool deck.  Flips and back dives are not allowed.

Lifeguards may require any swimmer to take a swim test if they are showing signs of trouble in the deep end.

Appropriate swimming attire is required.  No bathing suits with metal on them will be allowed on the slide.

Parts of the pools, hot tub, diving board, or water slides may be opened or closed at lifeguard’s discretion.

Basketballs must be shot from the water only and not from the deck.  Hanging on the basketball rim is not permitted.

No hanging on lane lines.  Please swim under, rather than over the lane lines.

Starting blocks are not for public use.

No smoking or alcoholic beverages may be consumed on school property including the parking areas.

 

Slide Rules

Maximum load is one person no more than 300 pounds.

Children under 54” who are non-swimmers not allowed on slide.  No lifejackets on slide.

Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckle, rivets, or metal ornamentation not permitted.

One person at a time on the slide.  Never form chains.

Slide must be ridden feet first lying on your back or in a sitting position.  Sit up to go slower, lie down to go faster.

Riders must wait for attendant’s signal before starting.

Keep arms and hands inside flumes at all times.

Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, rotate or stop on the slide.

At the end of the slide, obey all instructions by splash pool attendant and exit quickly.

For safety reasons, pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride slide.

 

Diving Board Rules

No swimming in the diving area when the diving board is open.

Only one person allowed on diving board at all times.

Only one bounce for each dive.

Running, handstands, back dives, inwards and cartwheels are prohibited on the diving board.

Swimmers must dive straight off the board and swim out of the area immediately.

No one may adjust the fulcrum.
